Objective of this study was to estimate methane production in Thai native cattle fed dried Ruzi grass or rice straw based diets. Twelve Thai native bull (body weight 342.25±30.46 kg.) were used in this experiment. Dietary treatments were applied in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) consisted of ad libitum mixed 70%of concentrate with 30% of dried Ruzi grass based diet (T1), ad libitum 70% of concentrate with 30% of rice straw based diet (T2) and 70% of concentrate with 30% of rice straw based diet stair step feeding (T3). This experiment aimed to investigate the effect of Mao pomace (MP) levels on degradability and rumen gas production using in vitro gas production techniques. The experiment was designed by a completely randomized design (CRD). The dietary treatments were supplemented by MP at 0, 4, 8, 12, 16 and 20 mg with 0.5 g of roughage and concentrate ratio at 60:40. It was found that gas production from the insoluble fraction (b) had no effect (p>0.05) by MP supplementation, while potential extent of gas production (a+b) and gas production rate (c) were significantly different among treatments.
